What is Zoho ERP, and what does it replace in a Kolkata business?
Zoho ERP is the enterprise resource planning product Zoho launched for Indian businesses on 23 January 2026. It has launch editions for manufacturing, distribution, retail and non-profits. It is currently sold in India only.
In most Kolkata companies we visit, accounts sit in Tally, stock sits in Excel or a register at the godown, production is planned on a whiteboard, and payroll is run by an outside consultant. Each of these gives a different answer to the same question. Zoho ERP replaces that set with one system.

Worked example: licence cost for a 20-user engineering unit in Howrah
This is an illustration, with made-up headcount, to show how the arithmetic works. Take a casting and machining unit with 20 people who need full access (accounts, stores, purchase, despatch, production planning, management) and 80 shop-floor and office staff who only need payslips and leave.

The choice between Standard and Premium usually comes down to transaction volume. Standard allows 100,000 transactions a year and Premium allows 300,000. What does on-site implementation in Kolkata involve?
An ERP project depends on what happens at the stores counter and the despatch gate, and those are hard to understand on a video call. Because our office is in Kolkata, we do the following in person.
- Plant and godown walk-through. We follow one order from enquiry to despatch and one purchase from indent to payment, and note every register, spreadsheet and WhatsApp group on the way.
- Data count. We export from Tally and your spreadsheets and count items, duplicate parties, items without prices and open orders. You see the numbers before any configuration starts.
- Process workshop. Owners, accounts, stores, purchase and production heads agree the definitions in one room.
- Role-wise training. Stores staff learn stores screens at the stores. Accountants learn on their own data.
- Go-live presence. We plan to be on site when live billing starts.
How do we implement Zoho ERP, step by step?
- Discovery call. Thirty minutes, free. We decide together whether Zoho ERP, Zoho One or Zoho Books is the right base.
- Count what exists. Site visit and data count, as described above.
- Agree process definitions. Order to cash, procure to pay and plan to produce, signed off before configuring.
- Fixed-price proposal. Scope, phases and one price in writing.
- Clean and migrate master data. Items, customers, vendors, opening stock and balances.
- Build in phases with a weekly review. Finance first, then purchasing and stock, then production, then payroll and integrations.
- Parallel run. The new ledger runs beside the old one until your accountant has matched them.
- Train by role, then support. Thirty days of support after go-live are included. A monthly retainer is optional after that.
Is there a real Zoho ERP project we can read about?
Yes. Our published case study covers an anonymised packaging manufacturer with three plants, three warehouses and about sixty people on Zoho CRM and Zoho ERP. At the start, 594 enquiries had produced 17 orders, 600 bills a day were typed by hand, and 76% of 1,618 products had no recorded selling price. The system was built in six phases over six months.

Which West Bengal and GST compliances does it cover?
Zoho lists GST, e-invoicing, EPF, ESI, TDS, Professional Tax and Labour Welfare Fund as built into Zoho ERP. For a West Bengal employer that means Professional Tax deducted from salaries and the state Labour Welfare Fund contribution are handled in the same payroll run as EPF and ESI. We do not quote rates on this page because the state revises them. We set them up from the current notifications during the payroll phase and test one month against your existing payroll.
For goods moving out of the state to the North East, Bihar, Jharkhand or Odisha, invoices carry the correct GST treatment and e-invoice details from the same order that stores despatched against.
When is Zoho ERP the wrong choice?
Choose Zoho Books instead
If your main need is accounting, GST and getting off Tally, and stock is simple, Zoho Books is cheaper and faster to set up.

We run Tally and Excel today. Can we move to Zoho ERP?

Is Zoho ERP the same as Zoho One?
